Florida vs Georga

It’s that time of the year again when Georgia and Florida meet in Jacksonville to battle it out for SEC Eastern Region supremacy. The Gators enter the contest ranked #6 in the AP Poll while the Bulldogs come in at #8. Despite the lower ranking, Georgia, who won last year 36-17, is a -6.5 favorite across the Gulf Coast casinos according to VegasInsider.com. Expected showers Saturday morning in Jacksonville will likely create a soggy field for the 3:30 (EST) and produce conditions favorable for the Georgia rushing attack led by star tailback D’Andre Swift and their massive offensive line. However rushing attacks are more successful if they have an effective passing game to compliment it and vice versa, and the Bulldogs aerial attack led by Quarterback Jake Fromm has been unimpressive in recent SEC competition even in victory. Questionable play calling by first year Offensive Coordinator James Coley and a talented but young wide receiver corps has been viewed as the culprits. Florida and Georgia are both coming off of bye weeks and have been given extra time to address any weaknesses. A weakness the Gators have shown recently has been giving up big yardage on the ground against LSU and South Carolina, and trying to stop Swift will be even more difficult. However, their pass rush has been relentess leading the SEC with 29 sacks and their cornerback duo of CJ Henderson and Marco Wilson should have the edge over Georgia’s wide receivers. In conclusion Florida just seems to have more momentum going for it than Georgia does right now. It will be a slugfest with the Gators beating both the spread and the Bulldogs 24-20 (o/u set at 44.5). (To be used for entertainment purposes only, not for making actual gambling decisions).

Game watching experience recommendation:

The weather forecast for Saturday afternoon on the Mississippi Gulf Coast calls for a picture perfect fall day with blue skies and temperatures in the 60’s. This calls for game watching combined with outside dining. Action Plan: place your bet at the Treasure Bay Sportsbook in Biloxi operated by the William Hill Company then drive a half a mile East on Highway 90 to the Reef. Go upstairs to the outside Sky Bar which provides an incredible view of the Gulf of Mexico, find the tv’s at the bar showing the Florida/Georgia game and sit your ass in front of it. Partake in your favorites among the 30 craft beers they have on draft and fill up on appetizers for the remainder of the afternoon starting off with crispy fried alligator bites and pickles (after all you’re watching Florida). When the game concludes stand along the balcony railing and catch one final breathtaking view of the Gulf of Mexico, inhale a final whiff of ocean breeze and burp if you have too. Drop by Treasure Bay on your way home and collect your winnings should your wager turn out in your favor.
