Are Dolphins Building SEC Passing Attack?

One of the most intriguing aspects of the NFL to me is following its SEC Lineage. I find it highly ironic that star players who competed with each other in college for a few years or more then often spend many more years competing against each other. Conversely, many opposing players in college then often find themselves on the same professional team and even spend their professional life being cheered on by the NFL version of their rival fan base in college.
While Free Agency often plays a role in this so does the NFL Draft, which I find much more exciting. When it comes to how SEC rivalries are reinvented in the pros, the Miami Dolphins #6 pick in the first round will likely make a strong impact. The Dolphins seemed poise to use this pick to provide Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, the 5th overall pick in 2020 out of Alabama with a big play weapon, and all signs indicate the SEC the well they will be going to.
Those potential weapons include Florida TE Kyle Pitts, LSU Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase or former Alabama teammates Davonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle. It is my belief that the Dolphins best option would be to keep Pitts in the State of Florida. At 6’6 and 240 pounds with 4.4 speed, he is arguably considered the best tight end prospect ever, but there is strong consensus that the Atlanta Falcons will select him at #4 giving them a strong SEC receiving flavor by pairing Pitts up with former Alabama first rounders Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley.
Should the Dolphins select Smith or Waddle it will be interesting to see if the chemistry they had with Tagovailoa in college will pick back up. If Chase is still available at #6 and the Dolphins select him the pairing of an Alabama Quarterback and LSU Wide Receiver will certainly be interesting. For that to happen though, the Bengals would have to forgo picking Chase at #5 and reuniting him with his former college quarterback Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow. All signs indicate though that the Bengals will go with giving Burrow protection and not weapons.
The Draft Kings Sportsbook website has Ja'Marr Chase as the projected number one wide receiver taken -1000. Draft Kings runs the sportsbook at Scarlett Pearl in D'Ibervile. We shall see soon if that is the case.
